An Odd Question For Wednesday

Hello everyone, and welcome to a rather unusual Wednesday post.  Does this feel peculiar?  It certainly does to me.

Anyway, I wanted to ask you all a very important question, and I'm asking it today so as not to interfere with the usual posting schedule.

Basically, I am thinking of releasing a Muppets For Justice ebook, and I'm wanting to find out if there is any interest out there.  The idea is that it will be 50% old stuff from this Blog, and 50% brand new, never before seen by human eyes, content.  I intend to handpick some of my favourite posts from the past two years, throw in a whole bunch of new stuff, and present it all in a nice readable format for your Kindle/iPad/Other e-reading paraphenalia.

Soon enough, you could be reading dick jokes on a glorious paper-white display

So the question is, would you buy it?

Obviously, since some of it will be recycled posts from this Blog, the cost will be very low.  I hoping to sell it for 99p (so roughly $1.50), but I'll let you know more once I've looked into releasing this properly.  For now, all I want to know is, are you interested and would you buy?  Better yet, would you recommend to a friend?  If you could let me know in the comments section below, or you can email me at addman_00@hotmail.com on Facebook via the link to your right, or on Twitter @OllieThePigeon.  All feedback will be welcomed with open arms.

Peace out y'all!

  1. I don't have an e-reader, but I'd buy your book, if for no other reason than to say "thank you" for all the free funny. Hell, I might even review it on Amazon.

    1. That's a very nice gesture that's made me feel all tingly. Luckily though, Amazon do a Kindle app for your PC, so you can read it with through the potentially eye-damaging glare of a monitor.

    2. Then make it happen, sir. I'm all in...except if you don't try. No pressure, just try harder.

  2. I'd most certainly the e-book. Also, I'll spread the word through public forums such as Blogger, Facebook, and YouPorn under the guise of a literary critic named Demitri Crangle. Ah, yes.

    1. Insert choice of verb between 'certainly' and 'the'.

    2. Demitri Crangle? Didn't you sell me some spark plugs the other day? Well, when I opened the box and found it to be full of snails, I figured I wasn't going to be able to repair my Vectra any time soon. Can I return them?

Also, that's really promising to know, thank you. I'll get right to work!

  3. I would buy it.
Hell I'd even buy the audio book if it was done by that charming Hugh Huxley fella.

But seriously, yes. do it. Have you done it yet? no?? get it done.
Stop reading this stupid comment and get it done.

Good to you and well done for the brains to sell your humour. You make do an internal wee some days and there are some wierdos who pay good money for that!

    1. I'm already hard at work on it, my friend. Just taking a break to tell how much I appreciate your money-I-mean lovely comment. I would by lying if I said I wasn't in this game to dampen people's undergarments, just not in the way you described.

  4. I dont have an ebook, and I would be lying if I said (or typed) that the idea had not occurred to me about my own blog before it got longer than war and peace. All I can say is go for it, if you do not you will never know if it would sell or not. Way back I wrote and produced my own album and had a 1000 of them produced proper like real albums, folk liked it but I still have a load in the cellar (hang on I don't have a cellar any more). If you do it I will send you an album I will even sign it . . . . . . Live the dream Mr Addman I will happily give it a promo on my blog although a quarter of my readership is you.

    1. You REALLY should do one Rob. I could honestly see a serialisation of your blog becoming the new Encyclopaedia Britannia of eccentricity. (too many big words in that sentence...going for a lie down now)

    2. A signed album by Rob Z Tobor? That's reason enough to write the damn thing. What kind of music do you do? For some reason I am expecting a fusion of classical and dubstep. The world needs more class-step music. Good for you!

    3. Maybe a bit more blues based Ian Dury meets the Sex Pistols but out of tune and confused.

  5. Since you asked an "odd question" as you say, I'll give you an odd answer: panties. Glorious panties!

I would totally buy it. And review it. Twice (We're two people, you know, so that's pretty cool). The best bloggers should have ebooks. If anything, it helps drive amazon readers who wouldn't normally read blogs toward you. What are you thinking of doing for a cover? I kid you not when I say that 90% of the time the cover will sell the book, which is why we always bend over backwards to try to make the coolest, eyecatchingest covers.

    1. Okay, fair enough. It's an odd question for this Blog, which is usually filled with nonsense. Something sensible in the real world is pretty odd here.

I haven't put a great deal of thought into the cover. I guess I was going by the old saying "never judge a book by it's cover". I will probably try and incorporate the logo and colour scheme into it. Either that, or I'll hire a cookie monster costume and take a picture of myself beating up bad guys.

Thanks for the tip though. I'll have a good think about it.

    2. Oh but you can judge a book by its cover, especially if it looks like this.

The BBW and the Space Lord

      Or this.

      Onio

FWIW, I would buy a book that featured a guy in a Cookie Monster costume beating people up on the cover sight unseen.

  6. I don't have an e-reader but I still think you should do it. Regardless of how it sells at the least you put something out there. That is an accomplishment to be proud of. Also, I don't know about there in the UK but over here in the US British humor if very popular. I think it could be quite the success.

    1. Thanks! Just a shame that you guys don't realise that you're making the best comedy right now. Still, I don't mind capitalising on that.

  7. I've often read on several blogs those who have taken their blogs to e-book form and have had some success. I think you should give it a try!

    1. I think it will be worth it, at least it's good to know that other people have had some success with it. I might try and do a Blog tour to promote it as well.
